Longworth 2007 10K Run
Many thanks to everyone involved in this year’s run – participants and Longworth locals who helped in the organisation – for making it the most successful ever in our ten year plus history!

For the first time we had over 100 runners (106, to be exact!) and, as a result, made a record amount of money for HALF (precise amount still to be confirmed). We had some extremely positive feedback from our runners, and were particularly gratified to receive emails such as this one:

‘Thanks to you and your fellow organisers, marshals, water providers and
everyone else who worked to make yesterday's race a great event. I am sure it
will grow when word gets around!’

We hope so too, and look forward to even greater things next year!

Special congratulations to our winners, who all received commemorative mugs specially produced by Aston Pottery:
- Jason Cooke of White Horse Harriers, who came first with a time of 39 minutes 7 seconds;
- Frances Briscoe, also of White Horse Harriers, who came second, barely a second behind him (and was also, of course, the fastest female);
- Heath Bampton, of Swindon Harriers, the fastest male veteran, with a time of 39 minutes 11 seconds
- Alexander Muir of Abingdon School, the fastest junior, who came in at 40 minutes 31 seconds;
- Louise Ferreira of the Blue Boar, who wrested the coveted fastest local trophy back from Steve Fleming for another year, with a time of 45 minutes 27 seconds
- Longworth Runner Fiona Benbow, fastest female veteran, with a time of 51 minutes 2 seconds

We also awarded the last man home, Christoph Esser (79 minutes 41 seconds) with a special ‘snail’ mug, which he appeared delighted to receive!
