Longworth School fete
4 July 2004 - The school fete was organised by the Friends Of Longworth School. The fete is an annual event that we all look forward to, and we are very grateful to all those who attended.

The weather was very kind to us and we had a fantastic afternoon. The children were enamoured with the donkey rides through the new wild garden created by the children at the school, and they really enjoyed the fair ground ride.

The scouts very kindly lent us their tents (just in case!) and we had a huge variety of stalls, a great supply of cakes, a hearty BBQ and even a beer tent!

The car boot sales were very popular this year and we thank those of you that ran them. The plate smashing stall was popular with the teenage boys and dads, it seemed to bring out quite a competitive side in them, as did the parents v pupils football!

We had a great day and are really looking forward to next year's fete, to which all are welcome. This year we raised approximately £960 so a really big thank you to all those who donated prizes, stalls and time, to all who came and enjoyed the fun with us, and to the weather for waiting until the end to rain!

The FLS is currently run by parents of the children who attend the school, but we welcome support from anyone who is interested. We are a very small school and so we always welcome help from anyone able to give it. If you have a few hours spare, tombola prizes, good quality jumble, or just an interest in helping us plan how to raise money for the children at the school please contact Melissa Noton on 01865 821730. All money raised goes directly to the children through school and leisure activities.
